How Can Your Major/Career Make the World a Better Place

Hi everybody :) Today we are going to talk about how your major can make the world a better place.

To begin with we must have the context of design at the time of the second world war (in Germany). Then on another level, design in the United States, specifically on black Thursday (fall of the New York Stock Exchange), at this time design lost its focus for one linked to consumerism, also changed its form of mass production (similar to today, with capitalism and the problems of the industries) design was dedicated to produce more and more focused only on profits. All this without taking into consideration the damage it would produce in the future.

Now, how do I see myself in this process? mm, I would like to be part of the change that is emerging with sustainable designs and change the system of mass production (organization, materials, preference in the worker) and also maybe go to the side of ergonomics, in designing for the forgotten (that's what I call it)

Finally, in a positive view, the design placed in another production system, could be very good, since it could be possible to make studies on toxins reduction, to improve the way of selling, and to help the customer to change his way of seeing the purchases (to get rid of consumerism).

I didn't know which picture to choose, but here is a collage by raymond loewy a great example for styling.
